> X-ray observations of black hole accretion flows can be used to study the accretion disc, corona, and black hole spacetime. I will explain how a combination of spectroscopy and timing can be used to measure black hole spin, mass, and geometry of the accretion flow. However, existing models are incomplete because they cannot self-consistently explain all the features of observations, or model “realistic” disc and corona geometries. I will describe our recent work on producing fast, flexible, numerical models that we plan to fit to X-ray spectral timing data.
