[Astro] [CAPT] New blackboard in A113

Hello all,

We are proposing to install a new blackboard in A113 in addition to the existing whiteboard. The blackboard would go on the side wall at the back of the room, and offer a space for informal discussion after seminars and perhaps for journal clubs. Fans of the tactile allure of chalk on slate have Farbod to thank for this proposal.

Before we make the order, if anyone has any thoughts, suggestions or concerns, please let me know. The effect of chalk dust for people with asthma has been a potential concern. A search of the medical literature suggests that this is chiefly a concern for users of the blackboard, as the chalk dust mostly doesn’t travel further than about 15cm, and so is mitigated by the option to use the whiteboard instead, and will be further mitigated by buying “dustless" chalk.
