Hi all,
This is a gentle reminder of the talk by Louis in ~1.5 hours.
There will also be doughnuts.
Thanks,
Lauren

Dear All,
This is to inform that the talk by Louis Herwig will be held at 11 am on Thursday, instead of 3 pm. The details are given below. (Sorry for the short notice.)
With Regards,
-Swagat
We have Louis Herwig, a master's student from MPI (Physics) in Munich, who is visiting Clare Burrage for an internship this summer. Louis will be giving a talk on coming Thursday (journal club time, but Particle Cosmology Seminar Link, see below).
Venue: A 113
Date: 12th September 2024
Time: 11 am UK time
Title: Dark matter constraints from quadratic interactions
Abstract: Conventional haloscopes are limited by a narrow frequency range, whereas ferromagnetic haloscopes address this limitation by introducing a tunable resonant frequency, offering the potential for broadband axion detection. Haloscopes exploit the axion-photon coupling, whereas ferromagnetic haloscopes exploit the axion-electron (electron spin resonance) coupling. The induced effective magnetic field from axions depends on their mass and coupling. Current models have mostly only considered linear axion interactions. This work investigates quadratic axion interactions, which could measurably change the effective magnetic field leading to a different output power.
