Physics beyond colliders - Haloscopes: from dark matter to gravitational waves

Due to new sensitive precision measurements gained through the advances in technology, the field of low-energy physics will play an important role in the future. Many experiments are currently being carried out in this area that are complementary to those in the high-energy physics regime. One prominent experimental approach is the haloscope, designed to detect cosmic axions originating from the dark matter halo. The principle of haloscopes: in the presence of a strong magnetic field, axions convert into photons, which can manifest themselves as microwaves in a special experimental setup.

In this talk I will outline the possibility to probe new physics beyond the axion and the standard model with haloscopes, such as chameleons, dark photons and high frequency gravitational waves.
