Checking in on your Odoo setup*



Hi,
I started writing a nice, polite corporate email to you. It was full of words like 'synergy', 'optimization', and standard B2B jargons. I read it, hated it, and deleted it.
Instead, I just want to vent about Odoo. I see the Odoo experts at my company looking at these databases daily, and it’s like the light has completely left their eyes. So many brilliant companies are falling into the hourly-billing and custom-code traps.  In our first discovery calls, prospects usually pretend the system works; they smile and nod, but behind the scenes, it's a mess. And what makes it worse is their Odoo partner is billing them by the HOUR.
We got tired of watching this happen, so we threw the stopwatch in the trash. At Silverdale, we killed the billable hour entirely and moved to a flat-rate subscription model [1] .
