Inspired by those in the Loire valley, this beautiful French
Renaissance chateau, was built in the 19th century by a Rothschild and
has now been gifted to the National Trust for the public to enjoy.
Upon arrival you will be welcomed into the chateau by your guide for
the day and enjoy tea, coffee, and a selection of pastries. Your guide
will then take you on a tour of the house.
The highlight of the day is an exclusive wine cellar tour, with a wine
and cheese tasting and lunch. The tasting will be run by one of
Waddesdon’s maestro sommeliers. The tasting highlights eight
Rothschild wines, four of which derive from Bordeaux and four from New
World vineyards. You will discover whether your palate is suited to
the rich and juicy New World style, or whether you possess a classical
palate suited to the savoury and layered Old World style.
Consisting of three white wines and five reds the tasting provides you
with a broad spectrum of wines of impeccable quality
