Alternatively have a look at the code in \library\Xerte\Authentication\Ldap.php I think others have customised this to suit their needs but not sure if there's a specific example of ldap via ssl. The issue is that when I specify the settings under the application for LDAP, whenever I specify the 636 portion it just says unable to bind., However the 389 bind option works every time.
