Re: Couple of glitches with embeded video and
contents button

Hi Jason
I can view each page of the LO now without any youtube clip overlapping.
However page 3 isn't showing the clip but I suspect perhaps there's a break in the embed code - try replacing that youTube embed code.
HTH
Ron

-----Original Message-----
From: xerte-bounces@lists.nottingham.ac.uk
[mailto:xerte-bounces@lists.nottingham.ac.uk] On Behalf Of Bardell Jason
Sent: 01 July 2013 20:06
To: Xerte discussion list
Subject: [Xerte] Re: Couple of glitches with embeded video and contents button

Hi Ron

Thanks for your comments.

The LO used 2 of the page types you mentioned and was the cause of the problem. content page (page 4)

I can navigate as far as page 4 but cant get beyond this. Can you remove that
plain
text page from your example and try again? If that doesn't fix it remove the embed content page too?

In my experience this is usually only a problem when using IE but doesn't happen if you stick to the dedicated YouTube pages. I think it's because the YouTube player is 'killed' properly when moving on from those pages but not when embedded in the other page types. But that's guesswork rather than fact.

HTH
Ron

From: xerte-bounces@lists.nottingham.ac.uk
[mailto:xerte-bounces@lists.nottingham.ac.uk] On Behalf Of Bardell Jason
Sent: 01 July 2013 15:46
To: 'xerte@lists.nottingham.ac.uk'
Subject: [Xerte] Couple of glitches with embeded video and contents button

Hello

We have experienced a number of glitches in xerte2.0, these relate to:

1. Embeded video content but especially YouTube videos, displays message
"failed to load, try again later" inside youtube video frame. This is
temperamental and works on some pcs. Also trying to proceed past embed video pages has proved problematic with the next screen going 'black'.
2. Contents button, sometimes returning to homepage instead of selected
page. This is usually the page before or after embedded video. At the moment its failing to get past one of our LO embed video pages.

You might be able to replicate this through a LO of the above point.

http://www.sehrdg.com/moodle/xerte/play.php?template_id=306

Are there any solutions to the above?

Thanks

Jason

This message and any attachment are intended solely for the addressee and may contain confidential information.
