Is it possible to open a combo-box in a script? Or have it drawn in the open state?

I'm trying to simulate a list box (contextual menu) that opens whenever a hot spot is activated. A combo-box is close enough to a list box... but I need it to be opened without having to click on it. Maybe there's a better way than using a combo-box???

Thanks... and have a great day,
Kent
