Hi,

As I'm also a Xerte newbie I have to guess what's causing this.
Have you tried the following things ?

Reduce the screen size of the video.
If you have made the video with the maximum screen resolution
possible on your pc (e.g. 1920 x 1200) it is likely it gets
resized (made smaller) within the viewer used on a Xerte. This
can cause a big decrease of the video quality.
You could try to change te resolution of the video within the
video converter. This might improve the video quality a bit.

Make the video while using a smaller screen size on your PC.
This is what I do most of the time when making videos for my
students.
I change the resolution of my PC display to a lower value (e.g.
1152 x 864 depending). Then I do a video capture, in your case
you do all the stuff you like to show in Moodle. After I'm done
creating my videos I change the screen resolution back to the
original value and convert the videos. This gives me the best
results in most cases.

If anyone else has some other tips and tricks I'm very anxious to
learn about them.

Best regards,

Newbie again! I’ve managed to get a video
showing and playing in Xerte which is great. Unfortunately,
the quality is very poor. I’ve changed the settings on my
converter so that it’s the highest quality conversion, the
original .avi file is really clear. The converted .flv file is
really clear, but when I view it in Xerte, it’s very pixelated
and hard to see what the picture is. I’m trying to put some
tutorials on how to use Moodle for staff at my FE College, but
the picture is so poor, it would be difficult to see what I’m
trying to do.

Can anyone help please? Are there any

clear. So I must be doing something wrong.
