I have installed Xerte on a server (not using XAMMP). After a lot of fiddling I have installed it without the LDAP stuff. This was only after reading a whole of heap of other people's problems. There are some major problems with the way that you have written the non-XAMMP installation instructions and I would wonder if you need to automate the choice of LDAP versus non-LDAP. Doing it by hand is a pain. I finally decided to just use the demo.php and see whether it would work.<br>
