Although it seems a really powerful tool that does largely fulfil its aim of allowing non-IT people to write good e-learning material, if it is hard for the learner to save their work then that really limits Xerte to fairly low level e-learning. For a serious learning program the user needs to be able to reflect on what they are learning and to be able to go away and think about their responses: if their work has disappeared when they come back then, for anything of substance, they are not going to go through it again.</span></div><div><br><span></span></div><div><span>I'm working on an application where the users will be managers, learning to motivate and develop their
staff more effectively. So, for example, we get them to say what they would do in various, fairly complex sets of circumstances and then offer them a 'model answer' or points to think about. They may need to think about similar situations they have been in and about how they might change their behaviour or their approach; and I can't imagine they can do it all in one online session. </span></div><div><br><span></span></div><div><span>Surely that it is one of the great potential strengths of online learning, that you can get the learner to think about what you are trying to teach and to examine their responses and modify them. elements on a separate LO launched from a NewWindow navigator page. That way you'd end up with the content LO still accessible without losing data entered in assessment LO.<br>

back to the page they are working on (e.g. a gap fill text or drag and drop activity) but found out that they lost the work they had already done on that page...
