<div>Many moons ago I tried learning to program Xerte by following a tutorial from the Xerte documentation about how to create your own templates. I don't know if the tutorial you are using is the one I tried, but I recall at the time there were some missing bits of code.<br>
</div><div><br></div><div>If you want to get your head around creating your own templates you may find the Page Wizards are an excellent starting point. Page Wizards are individual page templates which expose their structure in the Xerte desktop environment. There is a Page Wizard for virtually every page in the Page Templates project wide template.</div>
<div><br></div><div>If you start with a simple page Wizard like plain text you can soon get a feel for how the various files (xwd, rlm and xml ) relate to each other. After that you can expand your learning by taking a look at progressively more complex pages. </div>
<div><br></div><div>Page Wizards often provide an excellent starting point and resource, when creating your own page templates. Simply find the Page Wizard that is most similar to what you want to achieve, create a new page from it and then tinker around with the icon structure and scripts, to change how it works. Modify the xwd file to add new properties to your page which you can then utilise in the page's model.</div>

Thanks Julian, I was able to drag the xtp into Xerte and that seems to<br>

I have another problem though, on pg 12 part of the code for the judge<br>
script is missing as the screen shot isn't wide enough, this is the same<br>
error on pg 13 for the showPreviousAnswers script.<br>

Tempalte projects re better handled now by putting thextp into<br>
xerte/wizards and they then appear on the tempaltes menu automatically.<br>
select the one you want and the project will get set up...<br>

I am following Julian Tenney's Dynamic Templates with Xerte guide and<br>
have run into a few problems.<br>
One of which is that at the end to create a new template project by<br>
selecting 'new template project' from the file menu. However in the<br>
Xerte standalone I have this option is not available in the file<br>
menu....?<br>
