To see an example of this look at page 10 of the "Xerte 2 project that demonstrates the use of Page Wizards" available from the Page Wizards page of the Xerte Wiki. For this type of usage you will need to keep the Wink interface rather than use Xerte's own swf player control.

In our original testing using Wink we had the size problems
mentioned by Johnathan below which was probably due to using the the
preloader. As a result we ditched the preloader but also the Wink
native controller and imported using Xerte SWF with the Xerte swf
controller. It seems to work fine and preserves the xerte look and
feel.
If you want audio with the screen capture I suggest you look at
microsoft expression encoder ( 10 minute limit in free version)
output to WMV then convert in format factory to FLV (Wink is very
time consuming as you must add audio a frame at a time). The FLV is
similar in size to the wink SWF and should give you as good a
quality as the original screen particularly if you capture only a
portion of the screen equal in size to what Xerte will display.
Screen shot attached with full screen capture shrunk to fit in Xerte

For Wink files use the following settings
Wink: framerate 24; Output to SWF; Preloader = No; Add Control

Xerte: Add movie size parameter e.g.
I can’t use jing either because I need to be able to
edit the video. I’ve found a free tool, wink, that I
can use, but when I try to add a captivate movie
made using wink in XOT (or in the standalone version
of xerte), it seems to resize the video and zooms in
on a small part of the screen. The resolution of the
video is 685x514. I’ve tried to render the video in
lots of different sizes but this doesn’t seem to
make a difference. When I open it as a page wizard
in xerte, there doesn’t seem to be any code to
resize the video that I can fiddle with. Am I best
off just getting a copy of captivate?
