<p class="MsoNormal">Tooltips on the tree. This shows you the properties of an icon by rolling over it. I’m forever having to select a different icon to the one I’m working on to see what something was called or how something was set, so this saves you losing
the currently selected icon while you check out other settings.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">You can extend Xerte much more easily by defining your own icons. Put an AS3.0 class file into [xerte]/org/components and you’ll be able to set public properties via the mxml tag / icon in Xerte 3.0. Your custom icons appear in the last
of the insert menus:</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">See the example source code for how to make a very simple component that extends Button. Eventually I’d like to have the equivalent of the Xerte wizard fire up to make editing the public variables of the class easy, and to just use the
class itself to provide that information, so that gives you some idea of the future of wizards and templates in Xerte 3.0. If you’re interested in extending Xerte, you should also look up skinning which will be a better solution if you only need to change
the visual appearance of a component. Here’s the source for that component:</p>
