<DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Arial color=#000000 size=2>Xerte 3 is a beta. It's a complete re-write, in ActionScript 3, building on the Flex framework. THe underlying stuff is mostly done, the work that remains is on the authoring interface, and various helpers, like SCORM / Common Cartridge packaging, some other bits and pieces. Quite a lot of work remains on the template wizard.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Arial size=2>Xerte 2 is still being actively used and will not be going anywhere. It doesn't change too much these days - it's been pretty stable for the alst year or so, and the only changes are the little tweaks and additions you guys ask for,</FONT></DIV>

<DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Arial size=2>The google code is the place we keep all the source code, so anything in there is the most recent. The main ddownloads on the web site are complete builds where everything should be in synch and work properly. The google code gets checked in every day, so it may or may not be working as intended, and work on various things in there might not be finished yet. There are now four googlecode repositories: one for Xerte 2, one for xerte 3, one for toolkits and one for xpert, as the old one was getting in a mess.</FONT></DIV>

<P><FONT size=2>I didn't know that there was a Xerte v3 out. Where does the latest<BR>stable version of Xerte desktop and Toolkits sit - on the Xerte website<BR>on the Nottingham server, or on the Google code page, or elsewhere? The<BR>latest version on the Nottingham page is 2.9.<BR><BR>A subsidiary question: is the desktop tool still being developed and/or<BR>supported? The emphasis on the Nottingham site appears to be mostly on<BR>Toolkits.
