<br>
Thanks again for the reply. Can I automatically generate the required files for
the learning objects in standalone Xerte?<br>
<br>
I tried modifying a learning object I exported from the toolkits server,
however it didn't import for reasons I don't understand as the error was too
long to fit on the message box.<br>
<br>
Also, looking in the RLO from the toolkits server there is a lot of javascript
describing how the pages should be structured,<br>
however the RLO generated from the stand alone version doesn't have any of
this.<br>
<br>
When you get the chance could you send me a very basic (i.e. blank) project
with the bare minimum of files in it, which will successfully import to the
toolkits server, for me too look at?<br>

Thanks,<br>

A template should have an RLT, an XWD and a piece of XML, as a bare minimum.<br>
<br>
Again. not with the code, but as far as I recall the code loops through the zip
looking for an RLT.<br>
<br>
In the RLT it looks for the folder name and version number attributes to check
there is the same one on the system.<br>
<br>
If it finds them it looks through the RLT for the XML path.<br>
<br>
If it passes both of these it should import ok.<br>
<br>
You can add any attribute you like within xerte, including custom ones.<br>
<br>
Best bet is compare your RLO with the exported RLO to see what the server
expects.<br>

Hi Pat,<br>
<br>
Sorry for being dense, but I still don't quite understand... When I save an RLT
or an RLO from within the standalone client, I only have a single file, (the
afore mentioned RLT or RLO). Am I supposed to be including other files with
this when I zip it and try and upload it?<br>
<br>
If I export a project as a zip from the toolkits server it has a shed load of
files... do I need all of these when I upload a project from the standalone
version?<br>
<br>
Do I need to add the version number attribute manually, or can I add it within
Xerte?<br>

Hello,<br>
<br>
You need to add a version number attribute as well - I am guessing the template
that goes out with the installer has changed. Best bet is to take the RLT off
your toolkits server, and replace it with the one in the folder before you zip
it up.<br>

<br>
Hi Pat,<br>
<br>
Thanks for your quick reply, however I still don't understand what exactly I'm
supposed to be doing to make it work.<br>
<br>
I have tried creating a new project leaving the default settings, saving it as
an RLT, zipping it and then uploading it and I still get an error about no
corresponding templates.<br>
<br>
In standalone Xerte there is no option to add 'folderName' to the learning
object properties. I tried adding this attribute to the RLT using XML Notepad,
(and manually), and setting the value to be 'Nottingham' which, as far as I can
tell, is the name of one of the two templates installed by default in Xerte
Online Toolkits.<br>
<br>
This is a bit of a show stopper ATM as we have quite a few learning objects
which have been created in the standalone version of Xerte using the default
template supplied which we can't import.<br>
<br>
Again, any help you can provide would be much appreciated, as this is proving
to be a major headache.<br>
<br>
Thanks,<br>
<br>
Owen<br>

Hello,<br>
<br>
Can't be certain as I am not near the code at the moment, but as long as you
rename the rlo to be an rlt, it should work.<br>
<br>
The only reason you get a no corresponding template error is if the folderName
attribute in the learning object node of the rlt is not equal to a template you
have installed on the system.<br>
<br>
Offline and online versions of Page templates, should be identical.<br>
<br>
The wizards and the editor are also the same.<br>

Subject: [Xerte] Importing projects to Xerte On-line Toolkits<br>
Hi,<br>
<br>
I'm working on Bolton's implementation of Xerte, (which should be going<br>
live soon), and have run into a problem importing projects created in<br>
Xerte v2.5.7 into Xerte Online Toolkits v1.0.2.<br>
<br>
Initially I thought you did this from Workspace -> Properties -> Import,<br>
however uploading *any* zip file, be it a project or a template results<br>
in the error "You can only import Zip files."<br>
<br>
After discovering that this only seems to be a problem in Firefox 3.5.1,<br>
I then discovered this method is seemingly only for importing templates.<br>
<br>
However, after creating a basic project with a fresh download of Xerte<br>
2.5.7 and saving a 'new' project as a template, I was then presented<br>
with a message saying that no corresponding templates could be found.<br>
<br>
So my questions are...<br>
1) How do you import projects into Xerte Online Toolkits which were<br>
created in the standalone version of Xerte?<br>
2) What templates (if any?) are common between the two 'versions' of<br>
Xerte?<br>
<br>
Any help would be much appreciated.<br>
<br>
Thanks,<br>
<br>
Owen Watson<br>
