Hi Pat,

Thanks for your quick reply, however I still don't understand what exactly I'm supposed to be doing to make it work.

I have tried creating a new project leaving the default settings, saving it as an RLT, zipping it and then uploading it and I still get an error about no corresponding templates.

In standalone Xerte there is no option to add 'folderName' to the learning object properties. I tried adding this attribute to the RLT using XML Notepad, (and manually), and setting the value to be 'Nottingham' which, as far as I can tell, is the name of one of the two templates installed by default in Xerte Online Toolkits.

This is a bit of a show stopper ATM as we have quite a few learning objects which have been created in the standalone version of Xerte using the default template supplied which we can't import.

Again, any help you can provide would be much appreciated, as this is proving to be a major headache.

Thanks,

Owen

From: xerte-bounces@lists.nottingham.ac.uk [mailto:xerte-bounces@lists.nottingham.ac.uk] On Behalf Of Patrick Lockley
Sent: 24 July 2009 14:49
To: Xerte discussion list
Subject: RE: [Xerte] Importing projects to Xerte On-line Toolkits

Hello,

Can't be certain as I am not near the code at the moment, but as long as you rename the rlo to be an rlt, it should work.

The only reason you get a no corresponding template error is if the folderName attribute in the learning object node of the rlt is not equal to a template you have installed on the system.

Offline and online versions of Page templates, should be identical.

The wizards and the editor are also the same.

Pat

________________________________________
From: xerte-bounces@lists.nottingham.ac.uk on behalf of Watson, Owen
Sent: Fri 24/07/2009 13:28
To: xerte@lists.nottingham.ac.uk
Subject: [Xerte] Importing projects to Xerte On-line Toolkits
Hi,

I'm working on Bolton's implementation of Xerte, (which should be going
live soon), and have run into a problem importing projects created in
Xerte v2.5.7 into Xerte Online Toolkits v1.0.2.

Initially I thought you did this from Workspace -> Properties -> Import,
however uploading *any* zip file, be it a project or a template results
in the error "You can only import Zip files."

After discovering that this only seems to be a problem in Firefox 3.5.1,
I then discovered this method is seemingly only for importing templates.

However, after creating a basic project with a fresh download of Xerte
2.5.7 and saving a 'new' project as a template, I was then presented
with a message saying that no corresponding templates could be found.

So my questions are...
1) How do you import projects into Xerte Online Toolkits which were
created in the standalone version of Xerte?
2) What templates (if any?) are common between the two 'versions' of
Xerte?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Owen Watson

_______________________________________________
Xerte mailing list
Xerte@lists.nottingham.ac.uk
http://lists.nottingham.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/xerte
Checked by AVG - www.avg.com
Version: 8.5.387 / Virus Database: 270.13.23/2254 - Release Date: 07/24/09 05:58:00
_______________________________________________
Xerte mailing list
Xerte@lists.nottingham.ac.uk
http://lists.nottingham.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/xerte
