we're good to go again. Here's how to install Xerte Online Toolkits<BR>onto a
localhost provided by xampp on windows. Please follow the<BR>instructions
carefully...<BR><BR><BR>Install XAMPP<BR>- Download xampp from<BR><A

Run the installer, choosing to install apache and mysql as services<BR>- Open
the xamp control panel and stop apache and mysql<BR>- Goto
c:\xampp\apache\conf\httpconf.conf file<BR>- Remove the comment ('#') from the
following line: #LoadModule<BR>rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so<BR>-
Restart apache and mysql in the xampp control panel<BR><BR><BR>Install Xerte
Toolkits<BR>- Download and install the Xerte Online Toolkits from<BR><A

target=_blank>http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/xerte/downloads/toolkits.zip</A><BR>-
Create a folder called 'toolkits' in c:\xampp\htdocs\<BR>- Extract all the
files from the zip to c:\xampp\htdocs\toolkits\<BR><BR><BR>Setup Xerte
Toolkits<BR>- Navigate in your browser to <A
href="http://localhost/toolkits/setup/"
target=_blank>http://localhost/toolkits/setup/</A><BR>- On the first page
click 'next'<BR>- On the second page click 'next'. These first two pages
contain<BR>important information for any sys admins setting up toolkits on a
n<BR>production server.<BR>- On the third page, enter 'localhost' as the host,
'root' as the<BR>database name, leave the password blank, enter 'toolkits' for
the<BR>database name and leave the prefix field blank<BR>- On the next page
enter 'root' for the database account and leave the<BR>password blank<BR>- On
the next page, enter 'NULL' in each field<BR>- On the next page, click
'next'<BR>- On the following page, enter 'NULL' in each field<BR>- On the
following page, enter 'NULL' in each field<BR><BR><BR>You should now be at the
'Install Complete' page.<BR><BR>- Now rename the
c:\xampp\htdocs\toolkits\demo.txt file and to demo.php<BR>- Navigate to <A
