There is text to speech in Internet Explorer for the most efficient bytes-sound ratio for example, but it's not without drawbacks. .vox cannot be supported directly in Xerte due to the limitationsof the flash player (in fact neither is .wav).</FONT></DIV>

<DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Arial size=2>File formats need to be supported by the flash player, or you have to be able to play them in a browser window, and then open that window from Xerte, passing a file on the url. Including PDF is an example, as you can link to pdf documents in the Xerte file and then open them in new windows.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Arial size=2>I don't know if mp3 can be compressed in an optimal way for speech, which is what I thought .vox did. It doesn't record the lower and higher frequencies.
