Version 3.1 is an incremental update that addresses a number of small issues that surfaced following the release of v3.0 back in the summer: in particular thanks to Len Johnson for his work on improving the installer, and to John Horne at Plymouth for sending through a number of fixes and patches. As always we'd recommend users upgrade their installations to the latest code. This has been an incredible year for The Xerte Project: we've joined the Apereo Foundation and the Open Source Initiative, and firmly established the software as a viable and sustainable open source project; we've released version 3.0 with significant enhancements to the editor and several new templates, and we've seen our community of users and developers continue to grow. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the project this year, and to everyone out there I wish you a very merry Christmas, Julian -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I must admit I was a little skeptic about what advantages 3.0 would bring over 2.x so my expectations weren't that high when I installed 3.0 on my server. Oh man was I proven wrong. 3.0 turned out to be a great and fantastic version with an unexpected increase in productivity. I would like to thank everyone involved with the development of XOT. You all did a fantastic job. I would also like to wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year. May 2016 bring everything everyone needs and even more. Indeed while we were developing and testing v3 we all concluded that we almost hated going back to 2.1 because the benefits and flexibility of v3 were so obvious and so powerful. Although in his message to the Xerte lists Julian has described addressing a number of small issues and mentioned a couple of new contributors, actually we have also added a few key new features the most important of which in my mind is the ability to make all text in the main interactive template responsive. There are a couple of new page types since the v3 release too. If you're using Xerte encourage those who look after your installation to apply the update. Season's greetings and best wishes. Version 3.0 was a huge step forward, and 3.1 consolidates it. There is a lot of power in there now - it's been a really good year for the project. There's a lot of stuff we talked about when I came to Belgium that is now a reality, and the new editor is such a massive upgrade.
