Yes, if it's on a server on the college then it's a simple job to give the url to students.

Hi all

Thanks for the feedback before Christmas. I've finally got around to catching up on the replies. I believe I have the Xerte software installed on my own PC only. I'm guessing then that it needs to be on a server accessible by all at my college to be able to share tutorials. Is that correct?

I too will have to badger my IT department if that's the case.

Many thanks
Kimberley

Hello,

I'm teaching myself how to use the Xerte software to create online library tutorials for my FE students. I created a learning object having worked through a Xerte how-to tutorial, but when another member of my team tried to view the link it wouldn't work. The link is: http://localhost/xertetoolkits/play.php?template_id=2. I suspect the issue is something to do with the 'localhost' bit of the URL.

Can anyone offer any advice on how to rectify this please?

Many thanks

Kimberley Godwin

localhost means you are using your own computer as the web server. Are you running Xerte from a flash drive or memory stick?
