Those are (in my humble opinion) very vague requirements, so I'll write down what Xerte can do in these two area's.

- SCORM compatibility

In Xerte 2.0 SCORM capabilities have been enhanced:
 * Don't need to think of it during authoring. SCORM is added on Export
 * SCORM 1.2 and SCORM 2004 3rd Ed.
 * tracks all pages (visited, duration) and currently quiz and Multiple Choice Question. More than 1 of these can be combined, and a weight can be assigned.

- Wide-interactivity

Interactivity through programming is available to developers by adding/changing page models/templates.
With the quiz you can currently have say 50 questions and ask the learner 10 random questions out of those 50.

The whole point of Xerte itself is there is no need for programming by the author.

But again, it is setup in such a way that it's easy to add page models/templates to the system, and those are in Javascript (for the latest engine).

Hope this helps.

I have an academic colleague who currently uses CourseLab - I was telling him about xerte and he raised the following points if anyone could comment (I know can output as SCORM but not familiar enough with xerte on the other point):

What I would need from such an authoring tool:
- SCORM-compatibility
- wide interactivity through programming, preferably Javascript, to allow randomised assessment with automatically generated parameters/variables.

Thanks

Nick
