Hi,

Nope. Not completely fixed yet. still have the issue of loading media files
not working. After uploading any selected media file (any .jpg/.png etc.)
the preview button for the chosen file gives me a popup telling me I must
select a media file. Publish or play shows the page without content.

Hi,

Wait! Ok so, I don't really have a problem then do I?.If the Create Menu
options have been integrated into the main XOT template then I wouldn't have
the Create options in the menu would I? Did that happen in V1.9?

Hi,

I installed Xampp (unzipped) in the C:\ directory and Xerte Online Toolkits
(unzipped) to C:\Xampp\hdocs on both Vista and W7. On the Vista system My
Xerte Toolkits screen is missing "Media Interactions" and "Multiple
Perspectives" options from the create a new project menu. I'll look over my
Admin rights and try some different settings.

On Vista, (and basically also on Windows 7) it depends very much on where
you install XAMPP (which path) and which access rights you have as a user.
We've seen access troubles before on Vista, but never could pin it down.

The current XOT only has two templates by default. All the functionality f
previous templates has been moved into the Xerte Online Toolkit template.

Hi,

Well, I've tried Explorer and Google, both seem to work the same. On either
browser, the resource links at the bottom didn't work until I went back to
setup and chose the manual setup option instead of the Xampp easy setup
option, They seem to work now although not sure what the difference is.

I still don't have the full menu on the right for creating new courses. Only
the top Xerte Online Toolkits and RSS options are available.

Today I tried setting Xampp and Xerte using another PC with Windows 7 Home
edition and everything worked as expected, no trouble. This may be some
trouble with Windows Vista settings. (On the original PC).

Which browser are you using? In chrome you might be able to see returned
error messages when the upload runs?

Thanks for your quick reply. I haven't tried all the options yet but it
definitely happens using media file of any type. I'm going to try removing
some internet viewer settings and maybe some virus protection controls to
see what happens.

Does it fail on all files, or just 1?

[Xerte] Limited usability after successful setup using Xampp

Hi,

I'm having difficulty finding additional or expanded information for setting
up Xerte Onlinetoolkits using Xampp as a stand alone system so I'm hoping
someone can help provide direction or support.

I have successfully set up Xerte as a standalone setup using Xampp for my
testing and development project. Most items seem to work as expected. I'm
having trouble when I try to import media. Please see the embedded pic. I
choose a simple .jpg file and get this error when I try to upload it. The
preview option gives me the same error. All media options create the same
error.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Mark
