Hi Ron

Thanks for your comments.

The LO used 2 of the page types you mentioned and was the cause of the problem. I have deleted the pages as you suggested and included the following:

Misc > YouTube video page (page 3)

Nav > Embeded content page (page 4)

I can navigate as far as page 4 but cant get beyond this. It would appear to be the Misc > embeded content page that is causing us a number of problems. I'm working from home on my own pc which is relatively reliable. Using IE9.

Thanks

Jason

Hi Jason
my quick anecdotal response is this:
If you want reliablility cross browser only use either of the two misc > youtube pages or the separate navigators > embed content page for embedding YouTube clips i.e. don't just paste embed code from YouTube in any page like the plain text page. Can you remove that plain text page from your example and try again? If that doesn't fix it remove the embed content page too?

In my experience this is usually only a problem when using IE but doesn't happen if you stick to the dedicated YouTube pages. I think it's because the YouTube player is 'killed' properly when moving on from those pages but not when embedded in the other page types. But that's guesswork rather than fact.

Subject: [Xerte] Couple of glitches with embeded video and contents button

Hello

We have experienced a number of glitches in xerte2.0, these relate to:

1. Embeded video content but especially YouTube videos, displays message “failed to load, try again later” inside youtube video frame. This is temperamental and works on some pcs. Also trying to proceed past embed video pages has proved problematic with the next screen going ‘black’.
2. Contents button, sometimes returning to homepage instead of selected page. This is usually the page before or after embedded video. At the moment its failing to get past one of our LO embed video pages.

You might be able to replicate this through a LO of the above point.

Are there any solutions to the above?

Thanks

Jason
