[Xerte] Re: Install buttons not working

Microsoft has never historically been a big follower of W3C standards... and buttons inside <a> tags was a common issue with IE...

That being said, I'd be surprised if IE10 didn't react well given that IE9 became a lot more standards compliant...

Yep it was IE 10, why would that have affected only one page?

I followed Pat L's advice of just go straight to the next page manually which was config_setup.php, the buttons to progress have worked from this point forward and I now have a working copy of toolkits - now onto integration with moodle.

FYI its on Windows Server2008 R2, IIS 7 with PHP & MYSQL from MS Web Platform Installer.

Can you give us a screenshot?
What system did you install on? XAMPP, Windows? Linux?

All the files and subdirectories are in place, I extracted the Xerte zip file and copy and pasted the Xerte folder and contents into the moodle folder.

I have just given everyone full access to the Xerte folder downwards and still no joy.

Ah sorry Tom I read your description as though perhaps you had already customised auth_config.php to set moodle authentication rather than the default guest authentication. If you haven't done that then Moodle isn't the cause of your problem unless it's permissions on the xerte folder inside the moodle folder. How did you put the xerte folder in place? Are all the files and subdirectories it contains in place? e.g. do they match what you see locally if you extract the xerte zip?

I'm afraid I'm about to go offline for a few hours so will have to leave others to help.

Thanks Ron,

Where do I set this too? All I have done in unzipped Xerte and dumped it in the moodle folder.

You have to complete the setup with guest authorisation first before switching to Moodle authorisation. Otherwise there's no xerte database for the moodle path to be stored in!

I have just re installed moodle and placed Xerte within it. I have navigated to the Xerte setup screen but cannot progress because the next button (for both Full install and XAMP) does not respond.

Can someone advise?

Thanks

Tom
