[Xerte] Re: Learning object does not start

Hello Branislav,

If you look at your project folder it should contain pages.xwd, pages.rlo,
pages.xml

Looking at the first image you attached, the one with the zinc error
message I can see that your project looks like it has been created by doing
"pages / create new page project" because the project includes the script
"capture display values" directly under the learning object icon. Also the
learning object icon has the little circle on it that indicates that the
icon has an associated wizard form.

However I also notice that at the top of your image the project .rlo file
name is listed as Test.rlo

When you create a project using "pages / create new page project" you are
not given the opportunity to specify a name for the .rlo file. You select
which folder you wish to create your project in and then Xerte
automatically creates the files pages.xwd, pages.rlo and pages.xml. So I
don't know how you have ended up with a .rlo file called test.rlo unless
you have renamed the original pages.rlo. This should not cause a problem
unless you rename either pages.xml or pages.xwd. If you select the learning
object you will see it has an attribute "templateData" which by default
points to

FileLocation + 'pages.xml'

As long as the xml and xwd files have the same name and the templateData
attribute refers correctly to the name of the xml file everything should
work OK.

To access the advanced layout settings and the name attribute for the
learning object you need to double click on the learning object icon,
*not*on one of the pages in the project. Your second image confirms
that you
have opened the wizard for the orientation page. Try instead clicking on
the top most icon in your project tree called "learning object".

I am sorry I don't know enough about zinc to comment on the error you are
getting. You should not be getting it. Tom or Julian may be better able to
advise on that particular issue.

Kind regards

Johnathan
