[Xerte] Runtime Shared Library

Hello.
I went to help to find out how to embed fonts in case the font that I want to use may not be available on Xerte.
When I was reading it, can anyone please explain it to me what does it mean by runtime shared library? It'd be great if you could lay out an example as well.
