Hi Pat,
I am also having the exactly the same problem (see attached pic my old
version of XAMPP) I think it is the wrong version/build for my windows
program... Vista. Do you have to match up? There seems to be a few versions
around of XAMPP.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You'll need to make sure PHP and MySQL are running.

If you run XAMPP Control Panel (found under "apache friends" ont he
start menu), does it show both running?
