I am on a PC and have installed Xampp, turned on both Apache and MySqyl.  I have extracted the toolkits into c:\xampp\htdocs\toolkit\

When I get to the step in the installation guide about "Then start a web browser, and then visit this address
http://localhost/xertetoolkits/setup/"

Error:  

Object not found!

The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.

If you cannot resolve your problems easily (e.g. because your laptop is
locked down by your Institution), you can download a version that will run
on a USB stick from

http://rscmoodle.jisc.ac.uk/file.php/1/maxos/maxos_152.zip

you will find instructions for unzipping this and getting it running at:

http://www.jiscrsc.ac.uk/eastern/how-we-support-you/portable-apps.aspx

The current version is called MAXOS 152 (MAXOS = 'Moodle and Xerte On a
Stick'). MAXOS 170 is currently in Beta and will hopefully be available from
the same URL around Easter Time. This will include a number of new templates
as well as Moodle 2.2.1 and the latest version of Mahara.
