That's already been described by Alex each time the LO is published/saved a
single backslash is removed until none are left.

So although it works as a temporary solution because latex requires the
backslash to work it only works once. And re-adding double backslashes each
time isn't realistic.

So does the same thing currently happen on all servers where magic quotes is
off? e.g. is the only difference on the sandpit the magic quotes setting or
has there been a code change over time to fix this when magic quotes are
off?
