Ehmm, as Xerte is open source, nothing is stopping you at modifying the 
original player.... So you could grab a copy of the original .fla and 
modify it to your needs....

Please try visuals = 2 (clean interface) too and see whether you like that.

You can get a copy of the engine .fla from svn
