OK, so if I attack root/modules/xerte/parent_templates/Nottingham/Nottingham.rlt
I'm in the right spot?

They are slowly all being worked into the main template. Multiple Perspectives lies in there now, so are most of the additional interactions in Media Interactions. RSS is still useful because it creates RSS feeds. I any case the answer to your question is  one rlt per class of template.
