Hi Pat/all
I haven't had time to properly test this until now as I wanted to test with
both the repository version and the zip download. Earlier in the week I
discovered a bug with an installation I upgraded from the latest zip
download so wanted to test if the same issue applies with a clean install of
the current 1.6 download and the repository version. Here's what happens for
me on both a remote Ubuntu server and localhost via Xampp on Windows 7:

1. Clean install - all works fine throughout installation
2. Create a test LO add a title page or any page type - in the editor seems
fine
3. View the test LO via play or by closing the editor and then previewing -
the interface shows ok and the page title shows ok but the learning object
title and the title text in the middle of the page doesn't show.
4. I'm using demo.php for these tests and Fiddler seems to be indicating
that when the LO and page loads it's looking for and obviously failing to
find
http://localhost/xerte16/USER-FILES/1-guest2-Nottingham/models/title.rlm
whereas a previous install of the beta looks for and finds
http://localhost/xertebeta/modules/xerte/parent_templates/Nottingham/models/
title.rlm Not sure if this is the same as the "BIGGIE" you referred to Pat
but it does seem like it could be a big problem for anyone upgrading.
5. Replacing the installation code with the earlier beta code fixes the
problem.
HTH
Ron

Subject: [Xerte] Bug fixes

Hello all,

Have been on to Simon B's site and have it working - ish.

1) The problem which occurred with prior installs (and whitespace) is
caused by blank text at the end of database.php

Logically database.txt must have some whitespace at the end.

Removing this text will also fix Ron M's double empty pop up problem
(which was caused by creating a project and putting nothing in it).

Could someone please remove the whitespace from the end of database.txt

2) The session problem Simon had seemed to be caused by switch.txt -
which to be fair I didn't test. The FTP server doesn't like me anymore
so I can't get back in to check. Simon could you possibly send me your
session, config and index.php from the root - as well as
display_library.php from website_code/php

3) A new problem appeared for me - that i'd not noticed before in
testing AND THIS IS A BIGGIE - when in localhost - the path to the
rlm's is wrong. So toolkits dies a miserable death.

I have no idea what's changed here - a change in the wizard /
rloobject.js - am guessing this change happened post me leaving as
there is no way I'd have submitted a version as beta with this
problem.

Fiddler will show red links for each RLM - could some one confirm this
for me if possible?

So that strikes me as the four known bugs down (with some fixing)

Thanks all

Pat (who seriously needs to get a life)
