When I work with Page Wizards, because I am using desktop Xerte I tend to
work disconnected from the Internet from time to time. However there are
clear advantages in putting any help files on the internet. They won't bulk
up the Xerte project (as they would if in the common folder) and they could
provide a web based reference source, that might then be accessed by other
routes than just the info link on a Page Wizard.

The wiki would be a good place to put them. Using PDF's would be ideal as I
could develop them in Open Office and then publish to PDF. The use of PDFs
has been used to effect in the Creating Dynamic Templates document. However
the current restriction on uploading PDF files means that they would have to
be uploaded as zipped files. Thus the user experience would be that they
click on the help link and instead of a help page opening up they get a
request to download a file that they will then have to unzip. This is rather
unwieldy for providing help.

I realise that Wiki pages themselves can contain images, but the editing
environment is limited when compared to Open Office Writer. With so many
Page Wizards it would be much easier to develop PDFs locally in Open Office,
than to write the help pages in the wiki environment.

Is there any chance that the policy on uploading PDF files will be reviewed?

Kind regards

Johnathan
