Hi Tom

Thanks for that. I might take a look at the icon stuff on Xerte standalone.

I'll look forward to seeing anything you submit to the community!

Adam :)

Yes I can, BUT I can only do it on one install, and not another....

The difference being that the one that is working is the original from the installation CD's, and the one not working is an updated (10.0.0.2) install. It loads, but never lets me see the Actionscript code. It hangs on syntax checking.

By the way, most of the colours changes etc, were done on the interface icon of Xerte (standalone).

I did modify the Engine to accomplish some of the effects my collegue showed. I intend to pass them back to the Xerte project as a suggested patch. The changes allow all 4 appearances from one and the same XMLEngine.swf.

The problem I haven't had time for yet is translations.

Regards,

Tom

Can anyone else open/save XMLEngine.fla in a more recent version of Flash?

You can download it from the source branch here: http://code.google.com/p/xerte/source/browse/#svn%2Ftrunk%2FEngine%253Fstate%253Dclosed

No, you don't need other files.

I don't have CS4: still have Flash 8.

Hmm - getting unexpected file format when attempting to open XMLEngine.FLA in Flash Professional CS4. Do I need to have all the other files from the Engine SVN branch on my PC too?

Great - do you just then output any changed file as XMLEngine.swf?

These styles look great! How do you create/edit the originals? Are the FLA files available to edit?

Dear Mr. Henderson, Kevin,

I have a Dutch e-Learning Company (www.pedit-nederland.nl<http://www.pedit-nederland.nl>) and I am customizing and using Xerte for different customers in the Netherlands.

For example:

[cid:image001.jpg at 01CBE88A.467E3C00]     -->    [cid:image002.jpg at 01CBE88A.467E3C00]

[cid:image003.jpg at 01CBE88A.467E3C00]     -->   [cid:image004.jpg at 01CBE88A.467E3C00]

Depending on what you want exactly, some things can be done within Xerte (changing colours) and some things require modification of Flash code (customizing the navigation buttons.

You can contact me (off list if you want) for suggestions.

I m wondering if you could provide guidance. We r content developers and know very little about programming. We have looked at a number of LMS's and Xerte is by far the best for non programming content developers.

We would like to hire someone to install Xerte on our server and customize the color scheme. It would also be nice if we could have the navigation buttons customized and the bottom options to change screen and font size etc. removed.

But mainly an install and color scheme customization is what we need.

Hey guys,

With the Xerte project moving on with bug fixes and such I'm wondering
what the best way to ensure my Toolkits install is running the latest
version of the RLM's is?

Cheers
Adam
