[Xerte] Text to Speech

Hi all,

 

Can anyone explain to me what the "Text to Speech" checkbox does in the
footer UI?  I know what "Text to speech" is, I'm just wondering how to
get this feature working in Xerte.  Ticking it doesn't seem to do
anything and I can't find any guidance on it in the wiki etc.
