It works with chunks defined in the transcript, so select some media: sound or video,

Then mark up the transcript to identify the chunks for timing information

<p start="1" end="4">Hello world</p>

Then just add the exercises: they use the media and transcript information already entered.

What I want is simply to use in XOT/media interaction/interactivity the page types called dictation and drag and drop words
[cid:image001.jpg at 01CBBD46.CB611A10]Creates a dictation exercise for each chunk of text in your transcript
[cid:image002.jpg at 01CBBD46.CB611A10]Creates a drag and drop exercise for each chunk of text in your transcript.
But I can't find where to define these chunks
Cheers, Franck

What is it you are trying to achieve?

That makes sense, but how ? I can't find any field for the interactive text in the 'drag and drop word' template or in the 'Dictation template'. Such a field exists in the gap fill template for instance.

Words aren't draggable from the transcript, sorry: you need to create a gap fill exercise,

Have you got a link to the example that's failing?

Hi,

I want to use XOT for foreign language training. But it seems that dictation and drag and drop words can't generate the expected exercises. I 'mark words' in the script to define chunks, but with no result when publishing or previewing. Please abstain from offering a solution with coding, I just can't code. This is why I picked XOT for authoring my courses and not the desktop version.

Cheers, Franck Petit.
