Slight correction - it was only after my message reached the list that I
viewed the public link and realised the target boxes were too big and off
the bottom of the screen so I removed 3 of the <br> tags in each target
field e.g. now

<br><br><br><img src =

You may need to refresh to see the corrected version.

With a bit of perseverance you can cheat this a bit and achieve what I think
you want by using html img tags. I've covered this during training sessions
and have an example here:
http://www.learningapps.co.uk/moodle/xertetoolkits/play.php?template_id=8

Originally this was just an example using the categories interaction but I
just tested if the same principle works with the matching pairs and it does.
I moved that to be the first page and would add two comments:

1. The hit area doesn't cover the whole box so you need to add a relevant
instruction to drag the labels to the top of the box.

2. To fit the images to the boxes you may need to add some <br> tags.

3. Below is an example of what I added to one of the Target fields:

<br><br><br><br><br><br><img src =
"http://www.learningapps.co.uk/moodle/xertetoolkits/USER-FILES/8-ronm-Nottin
gham/media/image017.png" >

Thanks for the quick reply. That's such a pity - matching pictures and
words is so useful in language teaching. Just wondering if anyone else has
created word/picture exercises in Xerte in a way I might have missed?
