[Xerte] Bug with the text icon

Hi,
I'm having a problem on Xerte, and I'm looking for someone that could please help me.

I would like to know why I cannot write the < character in the text icon. When I use it, all the text bellow disappear on the preview. Those anyone knows how to solve this?
