Its windows string escaping the url

Enter

J:\xampp\htdocs\xertetoolkits\

Manually in the database for root_file_path

It's a known problem, just need time to fix it.

Does the path in the error really have single-quotes and the site_id= has double-quotes, or did you re-type it? They should both be single or both be double quotes or you'll get a syntax error. And shouldn't those backslashes be forward slashes, or double (escaped) backslashes?

Hi Pat

I am back to bother you again. I went back to basics, resetting everything, ensuring all necessary folders have Write permissions (even up to hard disk level so there is no doubt).

On the new set up (I have tried a few times) I consistently get the following message when it runs the set up query:

The sitedetails root_file_path query update sitedetails set root_file_path='J:\xampp\htdocs\xertetoolkits\' where site_id="1" has failed due to You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ''J:\xampp\htdocs\xertetoolkits\' where site_id="1"' at line 1
This certainly ties in with the "No such file" message I got while trying to access the Edit feature of Toolkits yesterday.
Have you any idea why the root_file_path is failing during setup?
Thanks for your help so far.

The moodle patch is another problem - not yours :)

Thanks Ron

I ran the demo.php and that took me back to the toolkits My Projects workspace. I tried to edit the learning object, but still the same message as before.

I am not sure what you mean by the Moodle patch. I am running a moodle and xerte alongside each other on the same xampp, I have tried to integrate them at all.

Did the installation work via demo.php first? Always worth trying that to ensure everything else is ok first. So try this...

1. Restore the original files you replaced when installing the Moodle patch
2. rename demo.txt to demo.php and visit http://yourinstall.ac.uk/demo.php
If that works the problem is with the patch configuration but if it doesn't there is a more basic problem

3. If demo.php does work put the patch back in but check the readme in the patch again and make sure the path to your moodle/config.php is correct.

Going to be offline from about 6.15 for a couple of hours but report back and I'll try to help further

I've just tried to set up the:moodle patch for Xerte toolkits 1.0.2 and I'm getting the this output:

php_library_path . "login_library.php"; include $xerte_toolkits_site->php_library_path . "display_library.php"; include $xerte_toolkits_site->php_library_path . "database_library.php";

trimmed to remove a lot of similar errors.

Is there a way to get this working or is the Moodle integration better approached in a different way, ie through ldap?

Dan
