[Xerte] Problems setting autoPlay from script - Desktop Xerte 2

Think you could go at it a couple ways:
Add the autoplay attribute with a default 0 to the template so it is always there, then set the value as needed.
Add the attribute to the XMLElement as needed then set it's value (1 obviously).

e.g. if the template graphic already has the autoplay attribute embedded:

<SCR>//your xml reading script icon gets autoplay value
icon.nextSibling.childNodes[0].attributes.autoplay = value read from your xml;
<DEC>
  <DIS>//with your swf. autoplay already exists as attrib

Thanks Julian.
We are looking specifically for a way to set the swf to loop - can we send this any arguments to that effect? Perhaps we can set autoPlay before the icon is created. It's determined in our template wizard so we know whether the swf should loop or not as soon as look at the xml for the page in the first script icon.

You can't set autoPlay after the icon has been created. You want myIcon.clip.play() at that point.

I thought autoPlay was Boolean (true or false), so the values should be either 1 or 0. If that doesn’t work, try using the onMovieReady event instead of
 onLoad. You might be running into an instance where the movie isn’t ready for playback, even though it is loaded.

I'm totally stuck and sure I'm doing something really stupid.

Setting the autoPlay property of a swf in its onLoad event with the following code:

if (looping == true) {

    graphic.autoPlay = 2;

} else {

    graphic.autoPlay = 1;

}

debug(graphic.autoPlay);

 "Looping" is set when the page begins (this is a modification to the swf template). The debug statement gives the value expected, but the behavior of the swf just ignores it. It seems to be completely controlled
 by the value set by hand in the properties panel.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks!
