Believe me, I've tried with/without quotes, declared/undeclared, etc etc.

Even if I duplicate the '&FileLocation=' + FileLoc....

and just change it to :

daveLocation=' + FileLoc....

It is not being passed through.

so the format of the string is not the issue here...

I think those variables must already exist in the engine.

So setting custom FlashVars is not possible without engine editing.

toolkits but I am pretty sure the variable needs to be wrapped in ‘

Your original example just
had =dave

I think it needs to be
=’dave’

I'm beginning to suspect custom FlashVars are not within the scope of the .rlo?

The one's that are in there, like FileLocation, are being explicitly passed
through from the pre-loader?

Can't seem to get them passed in.
