I know the path to the flv - so how would I use that in XOT?

You need to know how to get from the embed code to the actual path to the flv.

It would be useful to be able to embed videos from other sources. Like you we have an in-house streaming server which produces funky flash embed code. Would be cool to be able to add this content to Xerte OT.

Is there any scope to introduce a 'wep page' template? E.g. specify the URL and it appears inside the RLO? I'd like to be able to add Prezi's etc...

Yes. Put quotes around it. 'http://blah/image.jpg'
SR: Ah, thanks... missed the quotes

1. Not .wmv - only .flv. Use ffmpeg to convert.

2. SR: Well, that was the problem... needing to play them in place. There are a large number of wmv's and they change frequently. I don't have access to the actual video files.

3.

4. Why not just link to the resource I situ on toolkits? Why do you need to export it?

5. SR: We have LMS's on multiple servers (running IIS, SQL Server) and I thought I'd put Xerte on a server by itself so things don't conflict. May need to figure out how to make them all play nicely together so Xerte can be on each server.

6.

7. Thanks for the reply!

I've just installed Xerte online, what a great niche this fills... web-based content development tool that could be integrated directly into an LMS. Anyway, I have a few newbie questions. I had some very specific things I needed to get into a training module.

1. Can I reference a web page (or url to a graphic) and display it inside the lo?
2. Can I play a streaming video inside the lo?... especially .wmv's
3. With the installation of filezilla, I assumed the export function was going to give me the option to export a SCORM course to a specific server and directory so I didn't have to mess with creating the zip, manually transferring the sco to the web server, and unzipping. Or, is there a function to do that?

Thanks,

sr
