Thanks for all your replies. Where is the best place to go for
documentation on actionscript, I'm new to this but can quickly pick it
up.

ITsw a bit rocky maybe, but you can:
 
Have you usersinstall Xerte
Create a .rlo that does what you need
rename it as a.rla
Yu can access the zinc commands from your code to save the file
mdm.FileSystem.saveFile(string, filename); //I think
 
It may or may not be appropriate for what you want to do,

Xerte code is like actionscript

 

To save an external file you'll need some server based code, so it would
depend if you wished to deploy to a web server or not

Hi

 

Is there anyway that I can create a questionnaire type LO and have Xerte
save the results say to an external file. I want to be able to run this
on a laptop/pc which hasnt Internet access.
