I used ffmpeg to convert avi to flv and it worked well  ffmpeg.org

I use audacity with LAME for wav to mp3 but there are lots of options.
 Lately I've used AVS4U suite and it is a very good value as they have
a large suite available.  AVS Video Converter 6 has lots of options.
