[Xerte] XOT install - down the rabbit hole

After some thrashing aout I managed to get past page2.php of the install and create the tables on my hosting ISP.

On page3.php I left most everything default, but on submission I get a slew of:
Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'
errors.

Pretty sure I created tables on my ISP, as I do not have mySQL installed locally. ;-)
