Put debug into a script, not a text field

Subject: RE: [Xerte] debug(), focus

Back in June I posted a question about debug() not working:

In my current project I definitely, honestly, cross my heart and hope to
be pied, have only one Xerte window open. I put debug('whatever') into a
text field, hit F5, type into the field and expect to see a popup debug
window. Nowt happens. Any ideas?

Sorry for the late comeback on this, but I've had to revisit a stalled
project after being taken off it, and haven't touched Xerte in 4 months.
I've got a knotty problem to do with collating text field entries, and
it's doing my head in not being able to examine variable values to see
whether or not they're being set correctly.

I'm using Xerte 2.5.4 (yeah, I know, but I just want to get this project
finished) in Windoze eXtra Pathetic.

Cheers

Fred
