[Xerte] Linux installation of toolkit

Ok, That's the correct URL as well.

I see that edit fails (when the new editor window opens - does it work
by selecting in the list and clicking edit), do "preview" and
"properties" fail as well?

Pat,
Our mailer objected to attaching the .js file.
Here it is:

// JAVASCRIPT library for fixed variables // management of javascript is
set up here // SITE SETTINGS

var site_url = "http://localhost/toolkits/";

//AJAX SETTINGS

var properties_ajax_php_path = "website_code/php/properties/"; var
ajax_php_path = "website_code/php/";

//Settings for the drag manager software

Thanks for your help.
I'm part way through an Xampp/Xerte/Moodle on a stick install. It's
slow going since there's 12K files to write to a USB stick! I think the
low read/write speed of the USB device will limit its usefulness.
Cheers,
Bryan

Hello,

OK, as its running of a localhost the config.php looks fine (sometimes
on longer URLs it sets the site url wrong).

Ok - next file is - website_code/scripts/javascript_library.js please

Thanks

Hi Pat,
My Linux config.php is attached. It's all pretty straightforward from
the looks of it. The poodle server also runs a test Moodle
installation.
Cheers,
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

Might be the site url being set wrong for the edit url. Sometimes the
installer puts extra in.

Could you, with suitable changing so as to not give me any passwords,
post config.php for me.

Thanks

Pat

Hi Pat,
No, it's not mod_rewrite. Or at least, it's reported as running by
php_info() (see list attached).

Hello,

Is it snowing where you are? We just had a fire alarm here :(

Ok so that looks fine - so I am guessing mod_rewrite isn't turned on.

If you do a php info page - look for "Loaded Modules" in the
"apache2handler" section (or do ctrl+f and type in "mod_rewrite").

If it isn't, it's a matter of opening the http.conf for apache and
removing the comment before mod_rewrite, then restarting apache.

The installer should have instructions on how to do this (for xampp) in
the zip.

Local installs of XAMPP come with mod_rewrite turned on, other installs
may not.

Pat
