[Xerte] Button using swf flashes on screen

Ahh. You're not really supposed to be able to put one there, but the
parser (obviously) still finds it and it executes...

I'm getting lost. Sorry. Given this (and this alone?)

Interaction

  button1

    script (button2._visible = true; button1._visible = false;)

  button2

    script

  script (button2._visible = false;)

the second button is not visible? How is it being set to invisible?

Hello Julian,

I have just tested the working example I uploaded a couple of messages
ago and it appears that setting the interactions' perpetual value is not
making any difference. Button 2 is always invisible. The version of
Xerte I am using was downloaded on 2nd November 2009.

The interaction structure is

Interaction

  button1

    script (button2._visible = true; button1._visible = false;)

  button2

    script

  script (button2._visible = false;)

Kind regards

Hang on, what's happening?

Any script below an interaction that is not perpetual should not execute
until that interaction exits, entry frame or not.

Is this not the case?

And if I move your code into a framework entry to replicate my setup, it
acts correctly, the script executes.
Argh.

Thanks.

Interesting.
It is not the swf, I get the same behavior with aquaButton using the
visible icon property.

I had added the script below the int previously and had no change. But I
added a debug and unlike your script, mine is not being executed unless
I set the int to perpetual.

The only difference I can see is that my int is within a framework entry
pane.
This is where I still get weirded out on the execution order.

Dave,

The example I provided was just my text description of part of the page.

I have extracted the critical bits and created an example rlo which is
attached as a zip file.

Unzip it and open the rlo in xerte for a working example.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Johnathan

Sorry Johnathan, I didn't get the example .rlo you mentioned.
I had tried adding a script after the interaction, perhaps I have it in
the wrong place.
